α-Monofluoroalkanoic acids are important intermediates in the synthesis of biologically active fluorine compounds. General methods of preparation have been examined, based on the three following reagents:(a) hydrogen fluoride+ N-bromoacetamide;(b) diethyl monofluoromalonate; and (c) perchloryl fluoride.
