Abstract The conjugate addition reactions of indoles with quinones were catalyzed efficiently by molecular iodine under ultrasonic irradiation to afford 3??indolylquinones in good to excellent yields, which provided a novel, mild, convenient approach for the preparation of 3?? indolylquinones.
