Summary 1./3-Piperidylethyl and y-piperidylpropyl p-aminobenzoates, p-(0- carbomethoxypiperidy1)-ethyl and y-(/3-carbomethoxypiperidyl)-propyl p-aminobenzoates have been prepared. 2. They are all local anesthetics, the substituted piperidyl derivatives being less effective than the unsubstituted. 3. p-Aminobenzoyl-y-hydroxypropylpyridonium bromide had no anesthetic properties.
