The synthesis of poly-p-benzyl-L-aspartate and poly-p-benzyl-D-aspartate with weight average molecular weights of about 50,000 is described. The synthesis of twelve different copolypeptides of r-benzyl-L-glutamate and p-benzyl-L and D-aspartate has also been effected.
