Abstract Heteropoly acids are reported as efficient catalysts for the microwave-assisted synthesis of 3-benzothiazolo and 3-benzothiazolino coumarin from o-aminothiophenol derivatives with 3-acetly and 3-cyanochromen-2-one in good to excellent isolated yields (73– 95%).
