N, N'-Substituted derivatives of 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4-hrxafluoropentane-1, 5-diamine have been safely prepared by the lithium aluminum hydride reduction of the corresponding N, N'- substituted perfluoroglutaramides. The base strengths of these fluorine-containing secondarv diamines have been determined in order to assess the loss of basicity due to the inductive effectof the CFi groups.
