A novel porous coordination polymer, CuII (mtpm) Cl2 [mtpm= tetrakis (m-pyridyloxy methylene) methane], has been synthesized, and its crystal structure has been determined. Its adsorption isotherms for water, methanol, and ethanol are totally different from each other.
