It was found that α-bromo-α-hydroxyimino compounds were obtained in good yields by the reactions of sulfonium bromides, such as dimethylphenacylsulfonium bromide, acetonyldimethylsulfonium bromide and ethoxycarbonylmethyldimethylsulfonium bromide, with isopropyl nitrite. On the other hand,(α-hydroxyiminophenacyl and-acetonyl) pyridinium bromides were obtained in quantitative yields by the reactions of pyridinium bromides, ...
