Abstract In the absence of air NP 3 Ga (Np=(CH 3) 3 CCH 2-) decomposes thermally at 310– 340 C to yield isobutene and neopentane as the principal gaseous products together with a film of a material of metallic appearance. NP 3 Ga reacts readily with NH 3, Me 2 NH and t BuNH 2 to form 1: 1 adducts NP 3 Ga· NH 3 (I), Np 3 Ga· NMe2H (II) and Np 3 Ga· N t BuH 2 (III).
