Résumé/Abstract An environmentally benign, solventless, rapid and economic techaique for the synthesis of substituted quinolines, indoles and aromatic compounds using Knoevenagel condensation is described from readily available aromatic and heterocyclic aldehydes and diethyl malonate on solid inorganic support under microwave irradiation (MWI).
