Abstract: The macrocyclic polyamine [24]-N602 (1) catalyzes the hydrolysis of acetyl phosphate (AcP) to orthophosphate (P) and the synthesis of pyrophosphate (PP) from an intermediate 1-PN and P. The course of these reactions was monitored by NMR spectroscopy, which revealed the formation of PP and of an intermediate which was identified as the monophosphorylated macrocycle 1-PN by IH and 31P NMR studies.
