Method A.-A stirred solution of 20.0 g.(0.16 mole) of epibromohydrin and 13.5 g.(0.14 mole) of cyclohexanone in 100 cc. of dry carbon tetrachloride was maintained at 0-5" during the dropwise addition, over a 4-hour period, of 5 g. of stannic chloride in 100 cc. of carbon tetrachloride. la The mixture was then treated with 100 cc. of cold 10% sodium hydroxide solution, the organic layer separated, filtered,
