Treatment of trialkyl (dibromomethyl) silanes with trialkylmanganates, derived from manganese (II) chloride and three molar amounts of Grignard reagents or alkyllithiums, provided (E)-1-trialkylsilyl-1-alkenes with high stereoselectivity in good yields.
