A practical procedure has been developed for the preparation of aminoethyl diphenylborinate. This involves the reaction of phenylmagnesium bromide with butyl borate at low temperature, isolation of butyl diphenylborinate as a complex with ammonia, and conversion of the ammonia complex to the aminoethyl ester with ethanolamine.
