The present investigation was undertaken to determine the structure of the products formed when 2-aminobenzenethiol reacted with more complex+ unsaturated acids, eg, 8- benzoylacrylic acids (Ib), 4-e maleamic acids (IC),'maleanilic acids (Id) 8 and maleic acid monophenylhydrazides (Ie).* We have found, that when 2-aminobenzenethiol reacted with a 8-benzoylacrylic acid (Ib), 3, 4-dihy-
