Conclusion The availability of" benchmark" chemical shift data on solids is highly useful in the interpretation of chemical shift results for liquid solutions. Using Il3Cd data on solid CdX42-systems greatly enhances the reliability of the least-squares analysis of the weighted- average data on Cd (I1)-halide complexes.
