Abstract Reactions of benzoylhydrazones derived from heterocyclic and aromatic aldehydes and aliphatic, heterocyclic, and aliphatic-aromatic ketones with diethyl phosphite in the presence of [tetra (tert-butyl) phthalocyanine] aluminum chloride afford α-benzoylhydrazino phosphonates in high yields.
