The alkyltrimethyltin elimination reaction of R3Ga (R= Me, Et) with R''R'NSnMe3 (R''= i-Bu, SnMe3, C6H11 and R'= i-Bu, i-Pr, C6H11) has been found to afford a convenient, single- step, low-temperature pathway to [Me2GaN (i-Bu) 2] 2,[Et2GaN (i-Bu2)] 2,[Me2GaN (i-Pr) SnMe3] 2,[Me2GaN (C6H11) 2] 2, and [Et2GaN (C6H11) 2] 2.
