In our previous paper, 1) we investigated the reaction of trialkylstannylmethyllithium with several electrophiles, and observed that the stannyl compound is a versatile reagent for the preparation of a-olefins from carbonyl compounds, cyclopropanes from oxiranes, ally1 alcohols from a-chloro ketones, and cyclopropanols from a, P-epoxy ketones.
