摘要

Experimental Materials.-The trimethylol compounds were supplied by the Heyden Corporation. A sample of 2-(hydroxymethyl)-2-methylpropanediol-1, 3 was also prepared by condensation of an excess of formaldehyde with propionaldehyde in the presence of calcium hydroxide; mp after recrystallization from dioxane, 198-199".
