Abstract gem-Dichloroallyllithium may be prepared by the reaction of n-butyllithium with 3, 3, 3-trichloropropene or, better, by reaction of n-butyllithium with Ph 3 PbCH 2 CH CCl 2 in THF at low temperatures.
