Summary The distribution of ferric iron between hydrochloric acid solutions and P, P'- dichloroethyl ether has been studied for various concentrations of acid and iron. Dichloroethyl ether can be used for the quantitative extraction of ferric iron from solutions greater than 7 formal in hydrochloric acid.
