The photostimulated reaction of 1-iodoadamantane (1-IAd) with benzenethiolate ion gave the substitution product 1-adamantylphenylsulfide. With benzeneselenate ion (PhSe−) it gave three products: diphenylselenide, 1-adamantylphenylselenide and di (l-adamantyl) selenide.
