Abstract: An unexpected structural feature of organic amido ligating, polyanionic chelating (PAC) ligands has been discovered. Oxidation of tran~-Os (?~-l)(t-Bupy)~, 3 (H41= 1, 2-bis (3, 5-dichloro2-hydroxybenzamido)-4, 5-dichloro~ nzene), by 1 faraday per mol yields an equilibrium mixture of 3'and the cis-a diastereomer, 4'.
