Abstract: Reactions of trifluoromethyl enamino ketones,(E)-4-(dimethylamino)-1, 1, 1- trifluorobut-3-en-2-one (2) and 3-(dimethylaminomethylene)-1, 1, 1, 5, 5, 5- hexafluoropentane-2, 4-dione (3), with various types of lithium derivatives of aromatic or heteroaromatic compounds proceed with the formation of the corresponding aryl-or hetaryl- substituted trifluoromethyl enones and enediones in good yields.
