The 1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydroquinoline, 3, 4-dihydro-2H-1, 4-benzoxazine, and 1, 2, 3, 4- tetrahydroquinoxaline ring systems are important structural units in many bioactive compounds. 2-4 A review of the literature2-4 reveals that while the parent molecules are easily prepared, substituted cases are considerably more challenging.
