Abstract The oxidative photocyclization reactions of olefins that contain 1H-phosphindole or dibenzophosphole substituents have been applied to the synthesis of P/N-bi- heterosubstituted dimeric helicenes, as well as of new [6]-and [8] phosphahelicenes.
