The compound Pt (PFa) zC12 prepared by Chatt and Williams3 bears a striking resemblance to Pt-(CO) zClz, and the complex Ni (PF3) 4 prepared by Irvine and Wilkinson4 is very similar in properties to Ni (C0) d. This experimental resemblance between the coordinating properties of CO and PFA suggested the existence of the compound F3PBH3, which would be analogous to the OCBH3 of Burg and S~ hlesinger.~ On the other hand ...
