The accepted formula I5) was advanced independently by Takei6), Butenandt7) and LaForge8) at about the same time (1932). To study the interesting relationship between the insecticidal action of rotenone and its stereochemistry, the establishment of the absolute configuration is essential. This contribution is concerned with the determination~ of the absolute configuration at C-5'carbon atom of rotenone (I).
