Results and Discussion Chemistry. The successful alkylations and glycosylations of pyrrolo [2, 3d] pyrimidines have been reported by using various conditions, eg, DMF/NaH, 21 phase- transfer conditions, 22 aqueous sodium hydroxide, 23 trimethyl-~ ilylation,~~ acid-catalyzed fusion procedure^,^^ etc. We elected to use the procedure recently reported for the stereospecific synthesis of various 2'-deoxynucleosides of pyrro10 [2, 3-d] pyrimidines.~~~ ...
