A facile formylolefination of a variety of aldehydes was achieved by using formylmethyltriphenylarsonium bromide with K 2 CO 3 (trace H 2 O) at room temperature to give highly stereoselectively (E) α,β-unsaturated aldehydes in excellent yields. ...
