26, R= H; X= H; Y=-COOEt acid, and the N-benzoyl compounds 21 and 22 were synthesized using benzoyl chloride. The N-acetyl compound 23 proved more difficult to prepare, since it was necessary to use very mild conditions to hydrolyze the ester 24 without cleaving the N- acetyl group.
