Nov., 1935 AMINO ALCOHOLS DERIVED FROM 1, 2, 3, 4- TETRAHYDROPHENANTHRENE 2191 1-tetanthrenone; 1-hydroxyphenanthrene is found in the mother liquors of the semicarbabeone. Dilute potassium hydroxide solution extracts 1- hydroxyphenanthrene from the ethereal solution of the molecular compound decidedly slower than from an equally concentrated control solution of 1-hydroxyphenanthrene. ...
