As part of our study of potential atypical antipsychotic agents,] the synthesis of 3-methyl-6- chloromethyl benzothiazolin-Zone (4a) and benzoxazolin-Zone (4b) previously prepared by Carato et al., I was reported as shown in Scheme 1.
