摘要

Abstract A convenient reaction sequence in which the key step is a Stevens rearrangement, leading to dimethyl ethers of 5-n-alkylresorcinols has been developed and exemplified by the synthesis of the dimethyl ethers of the natural phenols, dihydropersoonol, grevillol, and bilobol. The tetramethyl ether of bis-norstriatol was also synthesized by the same route.
