Abstract [(IMes) Fe (CO) 4][IMes= 1, 3-bis (2, 4, 6-trimethylphenyl) imidazol-2-ylidene] complex was found to be an efficient pre-catalyst for the hydroboration of functional alkenes in the presence of pinacolborane at room temperature.
