摘要

Since the acetoxy is a good leaving group, 4 gives SN processes easily. ... In our previous paper (l), we reported that the reaction of N{4pyridylmethyl)-3,5-dimethylbenzamide N-oxide (1) (2) with acetic anhydride at 140' yielded dimerization compounds (2 and 3). However, the treatment of 1 with acetic anhydride at 100' gave N-[(a-acetoxy)-4-pyridyl- methyl]-3,5-dimethylbenzamide (4).
