Abstract Tri-sec-aminomethanes and dialkoxy-sec-aminomethanes can be obtained from chloroform sodium alkoxide and sec-amines. The tri-sec-aminomethanes can be converted into tetra-sec-aminoethylenes by thermolysis. It appears that tri-sec-aminomethanes and tetra-sec-aminoethylenes have been mistaken one for the other more than once in the literature.
