Abstract The reactions of 1, 3-dichlorotetramethyldisiloxane (DCTDS) with acetamide and a series of ring-substituted benzamides give disiladioxazines. The acetamide derivative exists in a tautomeric equilibrium with N-acetyltetramethylcyclosilazoxane, whose structure represents a novel type of four-membered ring.
