N4-Sodium-B-sulfopropionylsulfathiazole.-A suspension of 225 g.(1 mole) of sulfathiazole in 500 ml. of dry pyridine was treated with an equivalent amount (136 g.) of 8-sulfopropionic anhydride. When the addition was complete, the hot solution was kept at 80" for two hours and then added to 2 liters of benzene.
