Abstract: The synthesis, physical properties, and chemical properties of unsubstituted tri-s- triazine (1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 9b-heptaazaphenalene) are reported. The abbreviated synthesis consisted of a two-step procedure whereby 2, 4-diamino-1, 3, 5-triazine was treated with methyl N-cyanomethanimidate and NaOMe in Me, SO/MeOH to give 2, 4-bis (N'-cyano-N- form-amidino)-1, 3, 5-triazine, which was subjected to short vacuum pyrolysis to give tri-s- ...
