Abstract Six crown ethers containing two coumarin (11, 13, 14, 16, 17 and 19) or two 1- aminonaphthalene (15 and 20) fragments as sidearms and two crown ethers bearing one coumarin (12 and 18) arm were synthesized by a nucleophilic substitution of the secondary macrocyclic amine function on the alkyl halide.
