Abstract: Three nonconjugated aryl olefins, having well-defined but varied interorbital angles between the chromophores, have been studied: 2-methylenebenznorbornene (MBN), 2- ethylidene-I-methylindan (EMI), and 1-ethylidene-8, 9-benzospiro [3.5]-nonane (ESO).
