There is substantial interest in immobilized transition metal catalysts, because they are capable of combining the advantages of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis. The catalyst is easily removed after reaction, a high yield of the products can often be obtained, and the lifetime of the catalyst is good in some cases.
