Method B.-The ester (1.5 8.) was added dropwise to 5 ml. of ice-cold concentrated sulfuric acid. After standing at 0'for 10 minutes, the mixture was poured onto cracked ice and the resulting solid acid filtered with suction, washed with water, dried and recrystallized.
