摘要

To begin our study, effect of various reaction parameters on the aromatic thiocyanation of o-cresol (1) was examined as shown in Table [1] . In the preliminary experiment, the reaction using BDMS was compared with that involving molecular bromine. Reaction was carried out on o-cresol (5 mmol) with bromine (7.5 mmol) or BDMS (7.5 mmol) and NH 4 SCN (15 mmol) in acetonitrile.
