Pyrroles are one of the most prominent heterocyclic compounds, being present as key structural motifs in several natural products (for reviews, see [1]), conducting organic materials (for reviews, see [2]), and bioactive molecules (for reviews, see [3]). Consequently, a large number of general methods have been developed to construct these five-membered heterocycles, including the well-known Knorr, Paal-Knorr, and Hantzch syntheses, 1, 3- ...
