摘要

Thermal condensation of formaldehyde with 1-and 2-heptene, 2-methyl-1-heptene and 2- ethyl-1-butene in solvent acetic acid affords, respectively, the acetates of trans-3-octen-l-ol, a mixture of 2-methyl-3-hepten-1-01 (70'%) and 2-vinyl-1-hexanol (30%), 3-methylene-1- octanol and 3-ethyl-3-penten-l-ol. These observations are in agreement with the postulation that reaction proceeds vie a planar six-membered ring transition state,
