Microwave-assisted oxidative rearrangement of 3′-iodotetraalkoxychalcones with hypervalent iodine such as [hydroxy (tosyloxy) iodo] benzene or [bis (trifluoroacetoxy) iodo] benzene, followed by microwave-mediated hydrolysis and in situ cyclization of the resultant acetals gave 6-iodotrialkoxyisoflavones.
