摘要

Abstract Expansion of nalidixic acid (NA) has been accomplished by linear insertion of a benzo-ring between the two pyrido moieties. The resulting compounds exhibit antibacterial activity comparable to NA and are highly fluorescent. The regioselective hydrogenation of 1,
